VELUX

Velux attic conversion is one of the easiest and cheapest opportunities for extra space and works best when there is large amounts of headroom to take full advantage of all the space available. Compared to other conversions, such as mansard, rear dormer, the renovation of Velux lofts requires significantly less construction and is therefore not as disruptive or intrusive as other forms of loft conversions.

Reasons for Velux

  • Planning permission maybe not be required
  • Velux conversions are the cheapest option
  • Smallest amount of disruption/construction work
  • Get extra space you need at a fraction of the cost of moving house

Do you need planning permission for a velux loft?

Due to the alteration of the roof and structural integrity of the home not being highly impacted in comparison to other types of loft conversions it’s unlikely that planning permission will be needed.

However if you live in flats or are in a heritage area planning permission may be required.
